Yeou-naru is located on the water side of Yeouido Han-river and is one of Seoul's most iconic natural and urban attractions. It is easily accessible by public transportation such as subway, and is connected to Hangang People's Park, which is a transit area for water transportation and is also a scenic point in Seoul, as a water-front observation post.
The project aimed to create a structure, with the aim of allowing the structure to be symbolized by reconstituting it using the formal characteristics of traditional Korean architecture. Structural systems and roof shapes were also inferred from traditional Korean architecture.
This makes Yeounaru the beginning and end of the landscape floating on the river. In other words, the landscape of water was rediscovered by people in the experiential structure and projected into the Traditional Korean Space form, so that it had a place identity.
